Right now we are fishing the Sandy River for three runs of steelhead! Wild Winter Steelhead, 'native broodstock' hatchery Winter Steelhead and early Summer Steelhead are available through the month of April and there is an excellent chance of hooking all three on the same trip!
The Sandy River is a true Oregon treasure and the designated 'wild and scenic' sections are only 45 minutes from Portland. Every twist and turn of the river is like a postcard setting. The seasons on the Sandy River are not affected by the strict regulations on the Columbia and Willamette rivers. We will start out Spring Chinook/Summer Steelhead combo trips in late April and continue right through July! Each year, the peak of the run is different. Some years it is May, others June. I advise you choose your desired dates now and we can always reschedule based on conditions and run timing if need be. Spring Chinook/Summer Steelhead combo trips are always exciting. Our biggest Summer Steelhead are often caught in deep Chinook holes on very large baits!
